This porcelain pumpkin box starts out as a wheel thrown from that I trap the air inside. The air trapped form is then sculpted and trimmed, in this case I create a flange for a lidded box and cut the halves apart. The stem is pulled by hand, attached, and carved with details. The box is then coated in mango slip and carved with a festive fall vine motif. Glazed all over in glossy clear.
