Dark Side of the Moon Jack
Dark Side of the Moon Jack
This is a one-of-a-kind art sculpture jack-o-lantern. Beautiful translucent porcelain with hand carved and sculpted additions.
This jack is wheel thrown as a trapped air form in porcelain. It was then carved and textured by hand emulating the surface of the moon. It is glazed using only underglazes and carefully blended and transitions from a dark rich black, to grays, to pale yellow and finally across to bare translucent porcelain. Various other colors are added to the dark area to create depth and the colors of the moon the naked eye cannot see. When the jack is lit various portions of the light side allow a soft glow through the detailed carvings and craters.

Your jack-o-lanterns should be kept away from extreme heat or cold to avoid thermal shock. Flameless battery operated tea lights or votives are recommended.
